Information for visitors with disabilitiesInformation for visitors with disabilities

People with disabilities run into difficulties on a daily basis. To make your stay as comfortable as possible, here are a few important facts about Serengeti Park and our service for the handicapped:

Freizeitwelt, Wasserwelt, and Affenwelt:
Wheelchair rental:
There is a limited number of wheelchairs that you may use without charge. You must deposit an ID-card or a passport. A prior reservation is recommended, please call us at (0049) (0) 5164-97 99 0. Travelgroups are asked to state the number of wheelchairs needed.

Sanitary Facilities:
The brochure you receive at the ticket counters and signs all over the park will inform you about accessible sanitary facilities.

Western Trainride:
For an overall impression of the many things the park has to offer, we recommend a journey in our Western Train. While you enjoy the ride, your wheelchair is parked in the last train compartment.

Disability-friendly walkways:
The round tour through the park is disability friendly. Simply follow the signs at your own pace.

Tierwelt:
Explore Tierwelt in your own car (no convertibles without hard top roof!) or take the guided bus tour - there are busses for people with a handicap. Up to two wheelchairs can be placed in the bus. Please ask the driver for assistance!
If you are not permanently dependent on the wheelchair, our drivers will be happy to assist you to get into the bus. Your wheelchair either remains in your car or can be left in the bus drivers' recreation room during your tour.
The tour ends where it began so that your wheelchair is immediately accessible afterwards.

More good news for groups of handicapped visitors: On popular demand we have rebuilt one of our busses to fit up to 8 regular wheelchairs. There is a little less space if the passengers have electric wheelchairs. If your group is interested in this service, please contact us prior to your visit!

Dschungelsafari:
The access point to the Jungle Safari jeeps is level, however, wheelchairs do not fit in. If you have the possibility of walking a few steps, you'll get into the jeep without problems.

Aqua-Safari:
Sorry, but wheelchairs cannot be taken into the boats. You must be able to get into the boats - our personnel will gladly assist you - to enjoy this ride.
