1. General Information

Data privacy and security when using our website are very important to us. We therefore commit ourselves to protecting your privacy and keeping your information confidential. We would like to inform you at this point as to which of your personal data we collect in relation to your visit to our website and for which purposes it is used. As changes in the law or changes in our internal processes may necessitate an adaptation of this privacy policy, we ask that you read this privacy policy periodically.

2. What is personal data?

Personal data is information that can be used to obtain personal or factual information about you, that is, information that discloses or may disclose the identity of the customer.

The data is stored anonymously in accordance with the Telecommunications Act (TKG).

No personal user profiles are created.

Cookies are small files that are stored on the hard drive of a visitor. They allow information to be kept for a certain period of time and to identify the visitor’s computer. We use session cookies. These are automatically deleted when you close your browser. We are also persistent cookies. These remain saved, until their expiration date has been reached.

6. Which data are collected and processed by us?

Serengeti-Park Hodenhagen GmbH uses your personal data exclusively for the purpose of the initiation of a contract, the drafting of its content, and the performance or execution of the contractual relationship. Our customers and interested parties are sent information and offers by mail. Use of personal data occurs only to the extent necessary, in particular for the management of the customer account, or if we are required by law or by court order or, if necessary, to prevent misuse contrary to the terms and conditions in a lawful manner.

Usage and registration data are collected, processed and used within the necessary scope for the design of the website. Customer data and IP address are registered with date and time in the log file and used and stored for the purpose of statistical analysis of this website.

A merging of usage and registration data with personal data does not take place. There is no personal evaluation.

As long as they are not evaluated in an anonymous manner, they will be deleted immediately after the end of the session. Certain services of our website may require the collection and processing of personal data. This will only be done if you agree to the validity of our privacy policy and the corresponding use of your data.

In some cases, tracking pixels are used on our website for the purpose of anonymous statistical analysis.

7. Forms

You can contact us via our contact forms (information request, group queries, voucher request etc.), by email or by phone.

The legal basis for the data processing through the transmission of an email is article 6 (1)(f) of the GDPR. If the goal of making contact by email is the conclusion of a contract, Art. 6 (1)(b) of the GDPR is the legal basis for the data processing.

The processing of personal data from the contact forms solely serves the processing of your enquiry or contact. If you contact us by email, there is also a legitimate interest in the processing of personal data. Other data processed in the context of the dispatch and the associated processes serve to prevent or elucidate misuse and to ensure the security of the IT systems.

The data will be deleted as soon as the purpose of its collection is achieved, unless further legal retention periods preclude this.

Consent to data processing can be revoked at any time. In this case the conversation cannot be continued or the request cannot be processed. In the event of an objection, all data that has been saved due to the contact being made will be deleted, provided that no legal retention periods preclude this.

8. Online Shop

A shop system is integrated into our website. Admission tickets, vouchers and complimentary tickets can be ordered or downloaded via this online shop. Items from the souvenir shop can also be ordered.

We use the data that is collected and processed in the course of a purchase in our online shop for the order processing, notification of status changes, invoicing and shipping / provision of goods as well as for the delivery of information and offers from our company. In addition, the data is used to monitor IT security and prevent misuse.

The following data (as far as is available) are stored during the purchase process in the online shop: user ID, order time, order number, billing address, email address, salutation, first name, last name, street, house number, postal code, city, country, company, delivery address, payment method, shipping method, remarks, purchased items, prices, barcodes.

You have the possibility to save and edit the information in your customer profile in the restricted area.

9. Payment Processing

We offer various payment systems for the payment processing. Data that you provide within the payment process (account, credit card and login data) is collected and processed by the payment processor (payment provider) and is not transmitted to us. The payment system is responsible for the proper privacy and data security.

In order for the payment to be processed correctly, at least one identification number and the value of the goods must be transmitted. Depending on the payment system or the setting of your customer account with the provider of the online payment system more data may be transmitted. A transfer of data to third parties does not occur.

The personal data collected in connection with your order will be deleted or locked as soon as the purpose for the data processing is fulfilled or ceases to apply. Storage beyond the fulfilment of the purpose occurs provided that it is required by the European or national legislature by means of ordinances, laws or other regulations (for example, statutory duty to preserve accounting records and business correspondence).

Consent to data processing can be revoked at any time. In this case, your order can not be processed. In the event of an objection, all data that has been saved on the basis of your order will be deleted, provided that no legal retention periods preclude this.

If you do not want the aforementioned payment systems to collect and store your data, you do not need to use the online shop and can instead buy a ticket directly at our entrance, paying in cash.

10. On-line Reservation of Lodges

For booking the lodges we use the booking system of a third party. This provider was obliged by us according to the Federal Data Protection Act for order processing.

The data you provide during your reservation is stored on the third-party system and then transmitted to us via an encrypted connection.

The data will be processed for the reservation, booking, sending of the booking confirmation and processing of the contract as well as for the associated administration and oversight, and for the delivery of information and offers from our company.

11. Newsletter

When you sign up for our free newsletter, we will use the information you provide to send you the newsletter.

Upon registration, the data from the registration form will be sent to us electronically. Before sending the newsletter form, you must consent to the processing of the data. Attention is drawn to this privacy policy prior to shipment.

We use the double opt-in procedure in the registration for the newsletter. After your registration on our website you will receive an email. In this email you will find further instructions to confirm your registration. In this way, we prevent a stranger from registering your email address for our newsletter.

This website uses the provider Newsletter2Go GmbH, Nürnberger Straße 8, 10787 Berlin, for the distribution of the newsletter. Newsletter2Go is a service with which the dispatch of newsletters can be organized and analysed, among other things. The data entered by you for the purpose of newsletter subscription is stored on the servers of Newsletter2Go in Germany.

If you do not want analysis by Newsletter2Go, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter. We provide a link in every newsletter message for this purpose. Furthermore, you can unsubscribe from the newsletter by email to info@serengeti-park.de.

Data analysis by Newsletter2Go

With the help of Newsletter2Go we are able to analyse our newsletter campaigns. For example, we can see if a newsletter message has been opened and which links may have been clicked. In this way, we can determine, among other things, which links were clicked especially often.

In addition, we can see if certain predefined actions take place after opening / clicking on said links (conversion rate). For example, we can tell if you have made a purchase after clicking on the newsletter.

Newsletter2Go also enables us to subdivide the newsletter recipients into different categories (“clusters”). For example, the newsletter recipients can be subdivided according to age, gender or place of residence. In this way, the newsletters can be better adapted to the respective target groups.

c) Data processing is based on your consent (Art. 6 (1)(a) of the GDPR).

You can revoke this consent at any time. The legality of the already completed data processing operations remains unaffected by the revocation.

The data provided when registering for the newsletter will be used to distribute the newsletter until such time as you cancel your subscription, when said data will be deleted from our servers and those of Newsletter2Go. Data stored by us for other purposes shall remain unaffected by this.

12. Application Form

You can send us your application via our application form. Please fill out all required fields. Alternatively you can contact us by phone, email or in person.

Before sending the application form, you must consent to the processing of the data. Attention is drawn to this privacy policy prior to transmission.

The data will not be disclosed to third parties in the process of the data processing. The data will be used to process your request.

The supplementary data collected in connection with the transmission will be deleted at the latest after a period of 7 days.

Consent to data processing can be revoked at any time. In this case, your application cannot be processed further. In the event of an objection, all data that has been saved due to the contact being made will be deleted, provided that no legal retention periods preclude this.

13. Google Analytics

a) This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, text files that are stored on your computer and that allow an analysis of the use of the website by you. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, in the event of activation of IP anonymization on this website, your IP address will be shortened beforehand by Google within member states of the European Union or in other signatories of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. With the processing of the personal data, we are able to evaluate the surfing behaviour of the user. This puts us in a position to obtain information about the use of individual pages or components and thus to improve our website and its usability (user-friendliness). These purposes justify our legitimate interest in data processing (see above: legal basis).

By anonymizing the IP address we take into account the interest of the user in the protection of their data.

The data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer needed for our record keeping purposes.

14. Disabling Google Analytics

You can prevent the storage of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly; however, please note that if you do this, you may not be able to use all of the features of this website to the fullest extent possible. You may also prevent the collection by Google of the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) as well as the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing a browser plug-in. 15. DoubleClick by Google

This website uses the online marketing tool DoubleClick by Google (“DoubleClick”). DoubleClick uses cookies to serve ads that are relevant to users, to improve campaign performance reports, or to prevent a user from seeing the same ads multiple times. 16. YouTube

We have integrated YouTube videos (provider: Google) into our website. Loading the video or the video player (even when the preview is previewed) will transfer data to YouTube from your browser. 17. Social Plugins

This website does not use social plugins. No data will be transmitted to social networks. The icons of the social networks integrated into this website only refer to the corresponding social network via a link.

18. Web Fonts

We use web fonts so that the fonts are displayed uniformly, regardless of the device used. For licensing reasons, this requires a data connection to the provider Monotype. When the web page is accessed, the font is loaded and general information (such as IP address) is transmitted from your browser.
According to Art. 6 (1)(f) of the GDPR, Monotype has a legitimate interest in the short-term processing of the IP in order to allow for counting and to prevent abuse of the counter.
